Valentine
is a 22-year-old Hackney Pony that had suffered for days with colic and other issues before coming to the rescue.  Upon examination by the vet, we learned that she sustained blunt trauma that resulted in nerve damage in her spinal cord; and she had a lot of swelling in her hocks that travelled up to her tummy.  She had little to no sense of where her back legs were.

After being treated with chiropractic and acupuncture we saw an immediate improvement.  Val couldn't swish her tail before the treatment.  The next day she swished it one way.  Now, she can swish it both ways!  She still can't pass manure all on her own, and we have to clean her out every other day.  We think she complies easily because she can't feel it but yesterday when I cleaned her out she was a bit uncomfortable -- perhaps she is getting feeling back?  We hope so - she's a doll!
