Frosty
was an Appaloosa gelding that we adopted from Back in the Saddle Horse
Adoption, Inc., before we stood up Beauty's Haven.
Frosty had lost all of his sight to a disease of the eye called
uveitis that is very painful if left untreated. Frosty also had
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) which is like asthma in
humans. For almost 2 years we were able to keep him comfortable
with medications and a managed diet and environment.
Late in the summer of 2005, Frosty suffered 3 rounds of pneumonia
within a 3 month period and he let us know that it was time to let him
go.
Frosty will always be in our hearts. With his trusting, kind,
and gentle soul, he left a lasting and loving impression on everyone
he met.
Frosty left us peacefully in 2005 with both of us holding him and
reassuring him how much we love him. He is no longer suffering.
He is buried at the highest part of our farm that we now call "Frosty's
Knoll."
We were very blessed to have had two years with Frosty. He
taught us so much and touched the life of everyone he came into
contact with. Click on his picture and read a very special
tribute to a very special horse.
