Charlotte
arrived in November 2008. She is a 28 year young
Appaloosa/Morgan cross.
Upon arrival, Charlotte immediately made friends with Kiwi, another
Appaloosa mare that was blind and deaf. Sadly, Kiwi crossed
Rainbow Bridge in early December. Charlotte was with Kiwi when
she crossed. After Kiwi left us, Charlotte was never the same.
She became depressed and had chronic diarrhea. We worked with
our traditional and holistic vets to try to help her but nothing
seemed to help. Although, she and Princess did become friends.
Charlotte came from a home that had lots of shade trees and cows.
She was taken from her familiar surroundings which likely was
stressful for her. Then she came and bonded with Kiwi and after
Kiwi crossed she was lonely and depressed. On February 20th,
2009 she got worse and crossed Rainbow Bridge. She is buried
beside Kiwi and we're sure they are running together now - without
pain and worry.
